Lillian S. Deckelman

Lillian Deckelman, 94, of Elaine, Ark., passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Crestpark of Helena. Lillian was born to Burbon S. Sullivan and Mary Price Sullivan on Feb. 4, 1923 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Lillian went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2017 at 94. Mrs. Deckelman had moved to Wabash with her parents and siblings when she was six years old, and held a deep love for the small community and the people. She married John Deckelman of Wabash in 1945 where they reared their two children, then later they moved to Elaine. Mrs. Deckelman enjoyed working for Howe Lumber Company for over forty years, many of those years she worked alongside her husband at the Howe Lumber Company Store. When she was sixty-five she began working for Christopher Home in Elaine, where she worked for twenty years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by two children Mary Martha (Kyle) Howell, and Mike Deckelman; two grandchildren, Jonathan (Katie) Howell, and Brooke (Gary) Steele; and five great-grandchildren.
