William Eldon "Pender" McCool

William Eldon "Pender" McCool of Prattsville, Ark., was born Nov. 20, 1938 in Prattsville, the son of the late Franklin Alfred and Verdie Mae Stuckey McCool. He was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, a retired air traffic controller and had served in the US Air Force. Pender died at his home on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the age of 78. He enjoyed turkey hunting, reading, and being outdoors on his farm. His passion was music, whether it was writing songs, playing the guitar or singing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, William Joe McCool, and his brothers, Reggie McCool, Cecil McCool and Theo McCool. Survivors are his wife and best friend, Myra Sue Webb McCool of Prattsville; sons, Brett William McCool and wife Linda of Hot Springs, Traye Douglas McCool and wife Alisha of Greenbrier; daughter, Joni Carol Lee and husband George of Little Rock; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville with Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. also at the church.
