D. Lorraine Davis, 89, of Hot Springs passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was born on Feb. 22, 1928 in Hot Springs to the late Louis and Marie Hall James. Her biggest hobby was loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorraine, a true southern lady, was known for her loving disposition and sweet smile. Her pets had a special place in her heart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Bible Learners Sunday School Class and was an administrative assistant to the Superintendent at Lakeside School District for 31 years. During her career she was assistant to at least three superintendents at Lakeside. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Davis, one son, Mark Davis, one son-in-law, James Morehart and one sister, Janice Peters. Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Ted) Kelly of Cabot, Ark., Donna Morehart of Newport, Ark., and Patti Davis of Hot Springs, seven grandchildren, Julie(Jeff) Patrick, Kris (Veronika) Kelly, Kara (Thomas) Parker, Matt Morehart, Lorri (David) Lee, Teddy (Jessica) Kelly Jr., and Reeta (Richard) Burton, and six great-grandchildren, Dan Patrick, Skye Kelly, Jane Patrick, Krissa Kelly, Landyn Morehart, Luke Parker and Zoey Parker. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Crestview Memorial Park with Dr. John McCallum officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials have been designated to First Baptist Church of the Garland County Humane Society. Arrangements are with Hot Springs Funeral Home.
