Harold James Boroughs, age 85, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017. He was born December 31, 1931 in Pulaski County, Arkansas in an area that is now part of the Little Rock Air Force Base. Harold was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Namakagon. He retired from the Corps of Engineers after 30 years of service and worked part-time for the Little Rock Stage Hands Union for over 25 years. He was resident of Sherwood, Arkansas for 38 years and remained a member of the First Baptist Church of Sherwood where he taught Sunday School for many years. Harold received many awards for community service including Volunteer of the Year from CHI St. Vincent's. He was a past master of the Jacksonville Masonic Lodge and was on the Metroplan board. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Velma Boroughs, brother, Lawrence Boroughs, first wife, Shirley Boroughs and their son, Derrick Boroughs. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Geraldine (Gerri) Boroughs; sons: Don Brown and wife Judy, Pat Boroughs and wife LaBeth, and Dan Boroughs and wife Angie; grandchildren: Adam Brown, Mark Brown and wife Maegan, Lauren Brown, Derrick Boroughs, Drake Boroughs, Connor Boroughs, and Marybeth Boroughs. A visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Roller–Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116, with funeral services at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Sherwood, 701 Country Club Road. Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
