Carla Jean Jones

CARLA JEAN JONES, 80, of Sherwood, Ark., passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. She was born March 2, 1937, in Stuttgart, Ark., to the late Lloyd and Irma (Erstine) Nofziger. The life of this woman was filled with experiences not common today. Foremost, Carla was committed to a loving marriage of 60 years. Carla's interests included family genealogy, a love for the written word and the characters derived from such, Texas Hold ‘Em, family tournaments, and rousing rounds of watching Jeopardy, in which she usually prevailed as the champion of the Jones clan. She also dedicated her life and love to three children and departed from this life knowing the unconditional love of ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, a most beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; her step-mothers, Vivian Nofziger, as well as DeeDee Erion; and her brother, Charles Nofziger. Carla is survived by her husband, Donald Lee Jones of Sherwood, Ark.; daughter, Ginger Goldsberry (Don) of Hernando, Miss.; son, Dale Jones (Audrey) of Boise, Idaho; and son, Dean Jones (Candy) of Hot Springs, Ark. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Jeff Waters, Ann Brown, Derek Jones, Adrianna Jones, Donovan Jones, Sara Schaffner, Dawson Jones, and Sophia Jones; and several great-grandchildren, Cameron McCain, Brittany McCain, Sierra Waters, Patrick Waters, Laken Brown, Tallon Brown, Parker Strom, Devon Strom and Malia Clyburn. An informal celebration of life will be at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Rd, North Little Rock, Ark. 72117, at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, with Reverend Duawn Mearns officiating.
