James Earl "Jim" Thompson, 71, of Rogers, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was born March 17, 1946 in Enid, Oklahoma to the late James Berdett Thompson and Beulah Bernice Cobble Thompson, who survives. Jim was also preceded in death by his son, James Frank "Jimmy T" Thompson and a grandson, Joshua Jacob Baker. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Pam Thompson; a daughter, Jennifer Montz, one sister; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Jim proudly served in the United States Navy, where he was deployed to the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga in Vietnam. He worked hard to upport his family, including owning and operating The Little Car Clinic in Rogers. Both Jim and Pam drove in SCCA autocross races, and enjoyed following the Professional Bull Riders tour. But, after Pam, his lifelong love was bass fishing! No largemouth bass could ever consider itself safe with Jim Thompson on the water. The funeral service will be at 12 noon, Saturday, July 1, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
