REV. WILLIE C. HOLCOMB, 79, of Maumelle, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017. He was born in Guntersville, Ala., to the late Mary Ridings of Clinton, Ark., and Thomas Franklin Holcomb of Chattanooga, Tenn. Willie served in the US Navy, the US Army National Guard, and the US Army Reserves from 1953 through 1961. He was also a machinist for the Rock Island Railroad and then became an ordained minister for the Assemblies of God. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Annadean "Ann" Holcomb; his grandson, Benjamin; and one brother, Norman Holcomb. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his three children: Thomas Holcomb (Kathy) of East Wenatchee, Wash., Dianne Tramel (Larry) of Cabot, Ark., and Deborah Branscum of Maumelle, Ark.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers: Kenneth Holcomb (JoAnn), David Ridings (Carla), and Ed Ridings (Dee); sister, Carolyn Housley (Randy); sister-in-law, Jane Holcomb; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017, at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle.
