Julius Kent Clay

Julius Kent Clay, age 83, of Ola, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home. He was born July 27, 1933 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to the late John "Kenzy" & Emma Vardell Clay. He was a member and deacon of the Ola First Baptist Church. He was a retired Air Force Vietnam Veteran and he also retired from Deltic Timber. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Charlie "Doyne" Clay, Robert Clay, John "Calvin" Clay, sisters; Mary Alice Kaylor, Ollie "Vannah" Oakley, sister-in-law Rosemary Clay, brothers-in-law; Monroe Oakley and Arnold Kaylor. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Ruth Clay, sons; Keith Clay of Mustang, Okla., Randy (Crystal) Clay of Little Rock, brothers Donnie (Hilda) Clay of Searcy, Orbin (Betty) Clay of Little Rock, sister Charlene Clay of Little Rock, sister-in-law Mabel Clay of Sherwood, and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Ola First Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Hatfield and Bro. Rick Balentine. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Danville Cornwell Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola. Pallbearers include Eric Clay, Danny Wong, Billy Butler, Mark Bailey Jr, Roy McElyea and David Bishop.
