Patsy Ruth Copeland Cox was born in North Little Rock on July 19, 1935, to Clovis and Elizabeth Warr Copeland, and died in Searcy on March 8, 2017. The granddaughter of Arthur and Della Warr and Alvin and Lizzie Copeland, she attended Robert E. Lee Elementary, Westside Junior High, and Little Rock High School, before graduating from Harding Academy in Searcy in 1953. That same year, she married C. L. Cox of Paragould, to whom she was devoted for more than 57 years before his death in 2011. Pat leaves behind the family she and C. L. worked so intentionally to build into a legacy of faith and integrity. In addition to her precious sister Bonnie Dillard of Searcy, Pat is survived by son Mickey (Robin Hankins) Cox of Beebe; daughter Mollie (Tim) Woodbridge of Melissa, Texas; son Monte (Beth Harp) Cox of Searcy; and daughter Mariann (Tim) Snyder of Landenberg, Pa. She delighted in her grandchildren: Arielle (Bo) Perry of Cameron, Okla.; Laurel (Edward) Jasso of Bryant; Gabriel (Anna) Cox of Beebe; Whitney (Eddie) Caballero of McKinney, Texas; Jennie (Caleb) Courtney of Hurst, Texas; David (Abby) Degge of New York, N.Y.; Rachel Cox of Memphis, Tenn.; Joel (Becky) Cox of Memphis, Tenn.; Sarah (Andrew) Fraser of Searcy; Amanda (David) Thornton of Fort Gibson, Okla.; Mark (Kristi) Snyder of Durant, Okla.; Adam (Jenn) Snyder of Fairbanks, Alaska; and Michelle (Adam) Harris of Melissa, Texas. In recent months, she indulged often in her new favorite pastime of counting her great-grandchildren and tracking when new ones were expected. She loved holding and soothing the babies, reading to the little ones, and getting news and pictures of them. She was blessed to rejoice at the births of Elijah, Arizona, Rosalie, Daniel; Isabella, Heath, Harrison, Reese, Aubrie, Ellie, Mollie, Reed, Cole, Abigail, Jade, Mya, Kaylee, Karter, and Lincoln. Anticipated spring arrivals Daphne Jane and Gabriana were already included on her list of family members, each of whom she prayed for by name every day. Pat and C.L. reared their family primarily in Pasadena, Texas and Newnan, Ga. She and her family were active members of the Newnan Church of Christ, where she taught ladies' Bible classes. Pat worked for many years in several Coweta County, Ga., schools as a highly respected, exceptional secretary. She also served as president of both the Pilot Club and Hospital Auxiliary in Newnan. Returning to their Arkansas roots upon retirement, Pat and C.L. worshiped with the College Church of Christ in Searcy, where they first met in 1951. Pat and C.L. determinedly passed to all of their children their immense love of singing. She also was a keen reader of almost any kind of book. She read the Bible from cover to cover at least once a year for many years. She loved solving any kind of word puzzles, and enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends on-line. An ardent Razorbacks sports fan, she especially loved attending Hogs football games at home and at other SEC venues, and she really liked her Atlanta Braves. Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Mariann School (Sang'alo, Kenya) or The Haven (Namwianga, Zambia) orphanage, both in c/o College Church of Christ, 712 E. Race Ave., Searcy, Ark. 72143. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
