JAMES "BOB" ROBERT SHERMAN, 80, of Jacksonville, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2017. He was born July 19, 1936 in Doniphan, Mo. Bob was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville and was an Ordained Deacon for over 30 years. Bob was preceded in death by parents the Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Sherman; sisters, Ferol Alderman and Carol Sue Laughlin. He is survived by his loving wife Harriett; sister, Joyce (Rev. Norman Orr); brother, John William (Sondra); two children, Teresa Diane Sowell and Lisa Roderick (Harry); grandchildren, Heather, Houston, Ryan and Amber. Bob was a loving husband, father, and friend. He loved playing golf, especially with his grandson, Houston. He loved people, most notably his family and Sunday school class and church members. He was a kind-hearted, warm, tender, and loving individual. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday March 18, 2017 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
