Richard Gillespie Garison, III

Richard Gillespie Garison, III, age 90, of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Saturday, March 11, at John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was born July 22, 1926, in Warren, Ark., a son of the late Richard Gillespie Garison, Jr., and Ollie Mae Knowles. Richard was a retired welder, mechanic, and construction worker. He was a World War II, U.S. Army veteran and the widower of Julia Maia Reaves Garison, who died May 11, 2001. They were united in marriage July 4, 1954. Also preceding Richard in death was a son Richard G. Garison, IV, and a sister Mary Virginia Miller. Survivors are one daughter, Carolyn G. McCallister and spouse Bob of Adona, Ark.; two brothers James (Jim) Garison of Crossett, Ark., and John M. Garison of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; three grandchildren, Courtney McKendree and spouse Andrew, Jason McCallister and spouse Jeriann, and Leah Raudman and spouse Roger; six great-grandchildren Maddox McKendree, Aidan McKendree, Logan McCallister, Sydney McCallister, Lena Hokanson, and Russell Raudman. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Frazer's Chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Warren, Ark., by Frazer's Funeral Home.
