Betty Reba Simpson Fisher, of Sherwood, passed away peacefully at the Arkansas Hospice Center at St. Vincent's in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 13, 2017. She was born April 13, 1932 in Wheatley, Arkansas. Her parents were the late Virty Vaughn & Lola Ann Simpson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Simpson of Abilene, Texas and Gene Simpson of Warren, Ark. and two sisters, Louise Brooks of Hazen and Ethel Ward of Brinkley, and two grandsons, Caleb Oxner (Jamie) of Fayetteville and Jordan Myers. Left to treasure her love are two daughters, Patricia Wheeler Wonn (David) of North Little Rock and Lisa Wheeler Myers of Fayetteville, one granddaughter, Reba Wonn Cauley (Jason) of Sherwood, two grandsons, Jeremy Wonn (Rachel) of St. Louis, Mo., and Austin Oxner (Ashley) of Fayetteville, and six great grandchildren, Alex, Corbin & Knox Cauley, Andersen Wonn, Oliver Oxner, and Hendrix Oxner, and other loved ones including Grayson Griggs, Barbara Sargeant and many nieces & nephews that she loved dearly. Betty grew up in Brinkley where she attended school and married Ira Wheeler in 1948. He farmed and they raised a family together. Then in later years she married Floyd Rockenbach from Carlisle. After his death, she married Bob Fisher, who also preceded her in death. She retired from the Wheatley Post Office. She was a member of the Wheatley Methodist Church where she loved teaching children and serving her Lord and Savior. There was never a doubt how proud she was of her family and she spent countless hours serving and caring for those that she loved. Anyone who knew her would say she made them feel like they were family and her door was always open. She was the true meaning of a Southern Belle and would say "Bless Your Little Heart". She enjoyed reading, quilt making, gardening, and was a great writer & historian in her own right! Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers that cared for her during her illness. Visitation will be 5:30–7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home and the graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Posey Cemetery, north of Wheatley, Arkansas.
