Margie Fay Greenhill James

Margie Fay Greenhill James, 75, of Carlisle, Ark., passed away March 14, 2017 in Little Rock, Ark. Margie was born June 15, 1941 in Gillette, Arkansas and resided in Lonoke County. Margie was raised with her parents and siblings in Tichnor, Ark. She married the love of her life, Kenneth "Kenny" Earl James on April 15, 1959. Their marriage was one of love and devotion to each other with an unwavering care for each other. To this union a daughter, Loretta Ann and a son, Christopher Earl was born. Margie's greatest love was being a mom. Margie loved being a "band mom" for the Carlisle Bison Band. She loved watching Chris perform in the band and rifle line. Margie's life was made complete when she became a "Mamaw" to her two grandsons, Madison and Christian James. She loved watching them grow up, play sports, attend school events that they were involved in, seeing them go to college and just spoiling them with her love. Margie found much joy in spending time with her family. Margie is survived by her husband Kenny, of almost 58 years on April 15th; two grandsons Madison and Christian James, daughter-in-law Karen James, all of Lonoke. Sisters Betty Fischer of Salem, Ark. and Patricia Fathke (Junior) of Yantis, Texas. Brother Danny Greenhill (Shirley) of Gillette, Ar.; brother-in-law Jessie James of Lonoke, sisters-in-law Mae James, Wanda James of Carlisle, Ark. and Faye (Gerald) Oswalt of Forrest City, Ark.; nieces Carla Moody of White Hall, Ark., Wendy Horton (Ray) of Lonoke, Brenda Hunter of Wynne, Ark.; and nephews Doug Fischer (Terri), Salem, Ark., Brian James (Kathy), Kevin James, both of Carlisle, Danny Greenhill, Jr. (Heather) of Stuttgart, Ark., T.J. James and Jason James, of Lonoke, Will Oswalt (Penny) of Jonesboro, Ark. and Scotty Arledge of Yantis, Texas. Margie had an "adopted" daughter and son, Karla Booe of Little Rock and John Philpot (Sherry) of Cabot, Ark. and numerous extended family members. Margie was preceded in death by her daughter Loretta Ann, her son Christopher "Chris", her parents Marce and Stella Ruth Greenhill and her nephew Allen Fischer. Services will be held on Friday, March 17th at First United Methodist Church, Lonoke at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
