Cody Michael Stone, of Cabot, took his last first class flight to Heaven on February 25, 2017. He was born May 6, 1984 in San Angelo, Texas. He moved to Arkansas with his family in 1997. He is a graduate of Cabot High School and of UALR with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and History. During his early years, he became hooked on gymnastics, where he loved to compete. He eventually transitioned from competition to coaching and eventually became a judge with the National Gymnastics Association and traveled the US, judging youngsters in competition. After graduation from UALR, Cody traveled the world stopping along the way to teach English, French and Literature in France, South Korea and most recently, China. He loved his kids and they loved him. Cody used his kind and gentle soul to bring these children the beauty of his language and culture, all the while learning and living theirs. To say he loved a carefree and adventurous life would be an understatement. He loved the history and cultures of foreign places and has set foot on every continent except one, making some amazing friends that anyone would be lucky to have along the way. Cody was also an aviation buff. He would always check the tail numbers of airplanes he was flying on to see how old and when they were delivered, no old planes for him. He would routinely fly multiple stops if there was a newer plane flying to his destination from somewhere else. Cody is survived by his mother "mum" and step father, Dana and Brian Strait of Austin; his father, Johnnie "Mike" Stone; his loving brother, Johnnie Stone III, both of Ward; his loving sister Erica Speer and husband, Michael of Cabot; grandmother Marilee Strait of Texas; aunts and uncles, Charles " Chuck" Ward of Ward, Rusty Stone, Becky and Mark Hofstra of Missouri, Phylis and Willie Bagwell of Oklahoma, Thayne and Jacquelyn Strait and James and Diane Mcshan all of Texas and Richard and Lynn Berry of South Carolina. Cody was preceded in death by parent, Shelia Wynn Stone; grandparents, Charles Ward, Jeanne Wellman and Johnnie and Pauline Stone and great grandparents, Olin and Stella Berry. He loved his family, especially his "Mum" and his family loved him. We will forever miss him and his mannerisms. We all love you Cody. We'll see you later. Visitation for Cody will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Brother Chuck Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Old Austin Cemetery.
