Don Burton Delling

DON BURTON DELLIN, 90, passed away March 15, 2017, in Mabelvale. He was born Aug. 25, 1926 in Lunenburg, Ark., to the late Ernest and Ida Mae Delling. Don was a member of Mabelvale Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was an iron worker by trade and proudly belonged to the Iron Worker Local 321 in Little Rock. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Ada Gregory and Thelma Stalnaker; brother Doyne Delling; son Michael Delling; and his first wife Billie Jean Harris Delling. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 37 years Peggy Delling; daughter Kathy Chandler (Dan); step- daughters Jan Werther, Kathy Anderson (George), and Cindy Thompson (Jim); two sisters Julia Meyer (Norman) and Peggy Hooker (Sonny); sister-in-law Billie Delling; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many longtime friends. Services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark. A visitation will be held an hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation or Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
