Susan Carrie Ward

Susan Carrie Ward, age 69, of Greenbrier, Ark., passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. Born Feb. 2, 1948 in Little Rock to the late John R. and Mildred Stone, Susan was a successful business woman, a gifted potter, a faithful follower of Christ, a loyal caregiver to her Yorkshire terrier "Baby," and a devoted wife and mother. She was also blessed with the gift of music, being an accomplished pianist and singer. She nurtured and inspired the music ability of others as a piano and organ instructor. She attended Greenbrier Church of Christ until her health would no longer permit. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tommy Vann. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 42 years, Larry B. Ward; daughter, Kelli (Jeff) Patneaude; son, Thomas Kennedy; 11 grandchildren; nine great-children; and anyone fortunate enough to call her friend. A visitation in her honor will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Greenbrier Church of Christ. Her celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, also at the church. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Oak Valley Cemetery outside of Lavaca, Arkansas.
