Billy Jayroe, 71, of Palestine, Ark., passed away, March 21, 2017. He was born September 24, 1945, in Forrest City, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Winnie Jayroe; brother, James R. Jayroe; brother, Cecil Jayroe; sister Betty Jo Dover; brother, Buddy Jayroe; and wife of 45 years, Janet Jayroe. Billy is survived by sisters, Margaret Singer of Oklahoma City, Okla., Louise Tracy of Forrest City, Ark., Alice Adams of Forrest City, Ark., and Dorothy Jean Billingsley and brother-in-law, Raymond Billingsley, of Carthage, Miss.; brother, Johnny Jayroe and sister-in-law, Rita Jayroe, of Palestine, Ark., daughter and son-in-law, ViVi and Ron Hall of Palestine, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Randall Holman of Palestine, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dusty Hoskyn of Scott, Ark.; grandchildren: Brooke Hall of Jonesboro, Ark., Barrett Hall of Palestine, Ark., Kayley Holman of Fayetteville, Ark., Gunner Holman of Jonesboro, Ark., Jessalyn, Holdyn, and Colyn Hoskyn of Scott, Ark.; and wife Patricia Jayroe of Palestine, Ark. Billy was a dedicated Christian and elder of the Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Palestine, Ark. He devoted his life and career to farming for 35 years. He was active on the boards of Farm Bureau, Farm Credit, Palestine Lyon's Club, and was a school board member of Palestine School District. Billy loved to travel, work in his yard, and drive his pontoon on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Ark., with his family. A special thanks to Dr. Lynn Cleveland and nursing staff of Genesis Cancer Center and Patient's Choice Hospice. Services for Mr. Jayroe will be held graveside, 11 a.m. Friday, at the Bell Cemetery in Palestine. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6 until 8 p.m., at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Palestine. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
