Albert Bud Hervey

AB "Bud" Hervey passed away March 4, 2017, four days prior to his 89th birthday. Born in Corsicana, Texas, on March 9, 1928, he graduated Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas in 1946, then served in the US Marine Corp, graduating from Southern Methodist University in 1951. Bud mostly enjoyed his time outdoors, fishing, playing golf, or listening to and playing music on piano or clarenet. Bud served over 30 years in Arkansas State Government, including Commissioner of Revenues, and Director of the State Department of Finance and Administration. He retired in1996 from Department of Correction as Assistant Director of Administrative Services. Over the years he maintained a close relationship with fellow workers. Bud was a former member and Officer of the Sierra Club in Fayetteville and the Elks Lodge in Rogers, Ark. Where he enjoyed fun loving times with friends. He is survived by Beth Anne Hervey Duren, of Fairplay, Colo., and Barbara Joyce Hervey Aclin, of Rogers, Ark., and Brent Alan Hervey of Milton, Ga. He had five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Shirley of Jacksonville, Fla., and Betty Shewmaker of Rogers, Ark. Memorial services for Mr. Hervey will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at First United Methodist Church downtown Rogers, Visitation will be 1 p.m. till service time at the church. Arrangements by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, Rogers, Ark.
