BILLIE JEAN JACKSON HAMAKER, of North Little Rock, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017. Billie Jean was born January 27, 1929, in Little Rock, to Henry and Ora Jackson. She was raised in Little Rock with her two sisters Helen and Eula. Billie Jean began Billie's Draperies, her custom drapery shop, in 1965. She was a proud member of the community and enjoyed owning her own business for 40 years. She had recently moved to Northwest Arkansas and had been very happy. Billie Jean was a strong, friendly, fiery woman, and was loved by her large family and many friends. She is survived by her sister, Helen Bullington; sons, Larry (Cindy) and Alan; grandchildren, Chris (Casey), Denise (Chris) and Alison; and great-grandchildren Cameron, Cheyenne, Elijah and Jasper; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her parents, her sister Eula, and her husband Johnny Hamaker preceded her in death. A simple graveside service will be held at Salem Cemetery in East End, Ark., at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 30. The family will host lunch in North Little Rock following the service, as an opportunity for friends and family to celebrate Billie's life.
