Noma Verneal Spicer

Noma Verneal Spicer, age 95, of Bald Knob, passed away March 26, 2017, at Searcy. Born March 11, 1922, near Bald Knob; eldest daughter of the late George Dewey and Virgie Pearl (Stone) Stewart. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband William Charles Spicer who died September 23, 1991. They both were devoted members of New Bethel Baptist Church. In addition, her siblings Fred Loy and Ruby Sears Stewart, along with a beloved grandson Monte Karl Kissinger, and nephew Stanley Stewart, also preceded her. Survivors: a son Charles C. Spicer (Glendalyn), daughter Marilyn L. Kissinger (Buddy), a special niece Sue A. Stewart, grandchildren Jimmy C. (Lynnetta) and Jennifer G. Spicer, and great-grandchildren Alexander D. and Catherine R. Spicer, along with several other nieces and nephews. She retired after 25 years at Arkansas General Industries, where she enjoyed work and making lifelong friends. Upon retirement, she began volunteering at White County Medical Center for another decade or more, contributing to the community and meeting new friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince Cemetery Maintenance Fund or New Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to services, and will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Prince Cemetery.
