Walter Joseph Hamilton, Sr.

Walter Joseph Hamilton, Sr., 86, of North Little Rock, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. He was born March 11, 1931 to Oscar and Elsie Fisher Hamilton in Little Rock. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn Thatcher Hamilton; his parents; and three sisters. Walter retired from North Little Rock Electric after 38 years of service as a Lineman. On August 2, 1996 the Mayor gave Walter the Key to the City and proclaimed that day, Walter Hamilton Day, for all his years of dedicated service. Walter is survived by his son, Joseph Hamilton (Dana) of Conway; daughter, Pamela Gross (Anthony) of North Little Rock; four grandchildren: Rachel, Katie, Autumn, Audrey; one great-granddaughter, Evelyn; two sisters: Barbara Coggins, Linda Charles; and brother, Howard Hamilton. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Arkansas (501-791-7400). Burial to follow at Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
