Robert Michael Michael "Bob" Zimmerman

Robert Michael Michael "Bob" Zimmerman was born into this world to Michael and Mary Johanna Zimmerman on September 24, 1947. Mr. Zimmerman had a strong work ethic; He pursued his bachelor's degree in accounting at the University of Maryland while driving an ice cream truck. Both during and after college he worked for the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Later, to support himself he worked for various accounting firms in our nation's capital, most notably Millard T. Charlton and Co., C.P.A.'s, also in the D.C. area and HEM Research, Inc., in Rockville, Md. He later moved to Little Rock, Ark., to be near his aging mother and worked for James Madigan and Co., C.P.A.'s. Gaddy & Company, C.P.A,'s, Richard Maginn & Co., C.P.A.'s, Moses Melody Inc., and Alsbrook & Company C.P.A.'s in North Little Rock. He took office space to the pleasure of E.H. "Buz" and Paul Herrod, North Little Rock attorneys. They developed a friendship and brotherhood which endures beyond the grave. Robert was a student of the written word. He read everything he could and died in possession of one of the finest private libraries of which anyone would be proud. He was particularly fond of Victorian-era British History. He was also an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. In the mid 1980's he was raised a Master Mason at Big Rock Lodge #633 in North Little Rock, Ark. He would later be initiated into the Arkansas Scottish Rite as a 32nd Degree Mason. Robert was preceded in death by his father Michael Zimmerman of Seat Pleasant, Md., and his mother Mary Zimmerman of Little Rock, Ark. He was the proud father of two daughters: Christine Massignani and Linda Horensavitz of Nevada, and nephew and niece David Zimmerman and Nita Dressel of the state of Maryland. Robert also leaves his very fine friends, Terry Choate, Bert Johnson, Mark Weber, Tommy Henderson, John Mason, David Lowery, Chris Faught, "Mac" Landers, John Parker, the members of the "White River Marching Shouting and Trout Fishing Society", and perhaps his most devout friend, Ms. Leigh Ann Hayes, Jerry Blaney and Sue Barber. He will be remembered at a "Lodge of Sorrow" and Open Masonic Service to the held at Big Rock Lodge #633 F.&A.M. in the city of North Little Rock, Ark., on April 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers to Big Rock Lodge #633, 5101 North Locust Street, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116.
