Kathryn Irene Marshall, born February 20, 1924, to John and Mary Luebke of Crocketts Bluff, Arkansas, passed away peacefully May 2, 2017. Kathryn, one of four children, grew up in Crocketts Bluff and graduated from St. Charles High School. After graduation, she moved to Little Rock and worked at the Jacksonville Powder Plant making ammunition during World War II. In 1946, Kathryn married Charlie B. Marshall. They lived in Ethel, farmed rice and soybeans, and raised two daughters. She and Charlie loved to take off during the day and go crappie fishing in the White River Wildlife Refuge. After her husband passed away in 1978, she welcomed two grandchildren into her life. Key in their upbringing, she continued to live and work in Ethel and then moved to Little Rock before returning to DeWitt in her final years. Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 31 years, Charlie B. Marshall; her daughter, Taivas Onni Marshall; her brother, Ralph Luebke; her sister, Hazel McCann, and her son-in-law, Randy Alexander. Mrs. Marshall is survived by her daughter, Gynell Alexander, her granddaughter, Sara Padgett Heathcott (Adam), her grandson, Seth Padgett, all of Little Rock, and her brother, Virgil Luebke (Dee) of Maumelle. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday May 4 at 2 p.m. at Essex Funeral Home in DeWitt, with visitation starting at 1:00pm the same day.
