Anna Jane Bowen

Anna Jane Bowen, 81, of Monticello, formerly of Humphrey, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Drew Memorial Hospital. Ms. Bowen was born Dec. 27, 1935, in Chicot, Ark., to John and Vera Watson Hunnicutt. She provided in-home childcare for many years and was a life-long caregiver and homemaker to many families and friends. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Monticello. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Pic Ellington; and grandson, Jamie Ellington. Survivors are her daughter, Becky Barnard and husband Jerry of Dermott; four grandchildren, Karen, Kenneth, Mitzi and Jason; eight great-grandchildren, Brett, Courtney, Ryan, Emma Grace, Matthew, Jackson, Sophie and Georgia; and special friends, Cindy and Don Smith of McGehee, along with their family, Natalie, Taylor, Olivia and James. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church, 939 Barkada Rd., Monticello, Ark., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Frazier Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart. Her family requests memorials be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1281, Monticello, Ark. 71657.
