Perry Thompson

Perry Thompson, Ph.D., died at home on Wednesday, May 17. He is survived by Laura Thompson, his wife of 56 years, and their extended family. Perry was born February 5, 1940 in Chamberlin, South Dakota. He received his B.A. from the University of South Dakota and received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri at Columbia. Perry taught at UALR for 26 years. He was a tenured professor in charge of the Gerontology Graduate Program. He also served with distinction on numerous educational boards in the state of Arkansas and on the national level. Perry's greatest passion was his family and friends. He was known for his warmth, generosity of spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. There will be no memorial service at this time. Perry donated his body to the Genesis Donor Program at the Medical Education and Research Institute in Memphis, Tennessee.
