She graduated from Dewitt High School while able to attend school only one to two days per week due to caring for a critical ill mother and two much younger siblings. Dorothy was married to Sonny Jackson in 1974 and they were married 43 years. She worked as a foreman at the Searcy and Dewitt shoe factories for a total of 45 years. In addition to her busy work schedule she and husband Sonny owned and operated The Rainbow Ranch for many years. It greatly amused her friends and family that she always named each and every one of them. She enjoyed RV camping with her beloved husband. They also enjoyed attending Bluegrass festivals and attended countless shows over the years. They loved antique cars shows and won numerous awards with their entries. Sometimes showing three vehicles at a time. They often won best of class, first place by category and best of show. No narrative of Dorothy's life would be complete without mentioning her love for playing cards with friends and family. She was so competitive and countless hours were spent playing pitch with her friends and family. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Sonny of the home, six children and countless grand and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters and one brother. I cannot count this document complete without mention of the special loving given by her Husband Sonny and sister n' law Sharon Vaughan.
