GAILYA E. "GAIL" FAILKNER, 90, of Little Rock passed away on May 26, 2017. She was born on Dec. 2, 1926 to the late Earl and Ola Cravens Ewing in Scranton, Ark. Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband Amos J. Faulkner, her sister Wanda Hoopes, and her brother Lindel Cravens Ewing. She and A.J. were married in Chicago, Ill., in 1947. Gail is survived by her son Gary R. Faulkner (Margaret), grandchildren Andrew B. Faulkner (Jenny), Adam E. Faulkner (Stacey) and Betsy Abbott (Matt). She is also survived by her seven wonderful great-grandchildren, Libby, Ava, Crews, Kate and Meg Faulkner and Amelia and Bo Abbott. Gail leaves behind her beloved sisters, Ann Bone (Bob) of Baton Rouge, La., and Neva O'Brien of Hot Springs, Ark., and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She volunteered at St. Vincent's Hospital for 12 years and was a member of its Auxiliary for over 20 years. She also volunteered at the Arkansas Art Center for many years. She was a lifelong Methodist and attended St. Paul UMC beginning in 1957. "My happiest times were spent being at Gary and Margaret's house with all the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids." If angels do indeed walk on Earth, Gail was surely one of them. Memorial service will be held May 30, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Road, Little Rock, Ark., by Reverend Richard Mitchell.
