Boyce Cain "Bud" Brown

Boyce Cain "Bud" Brown of McCrory passed away on Saturday, May, 27, 2017 in North Little Rock, Ark., at the age of 83. He was born in McCrory, Ark., to Sara Agnes and B. A. Brown on June 14, 1933. He was a member of the McCrory First Church of the Nazarene where he was Sunday School Superintendent for over 20 years. He graduated from McCrory High School in 1952. He attended ASU in Jonesboro for two years after which he enlisted in the Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Brown went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for NASA for 30 years as an Aeronautical Engineer in Huntsville, Ala. After retiring, he moved back to his hometown in McCrory. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent countless hours on the lake pulling kids on knee-boards and skis. He had a love for children and animals and devoted his life to helping and serving others. Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 63 years, Patsy Lantrip Brown, one daughter, Debby Avery and husband Brett of Sherwood, Ark., two grandchildren, Jeremy Avery and wife Charity of Benton, Ark., Brittany Fulmer and husband Billy of Greenbrier, Ark., six great-grandchildren, Lexi, Myles, Hayley, Hannah, Payton and Weston, his sisters, Syble Lamberson of Alexander, Ark., Mary Beard of Sherwood, Ark., Jean Mauldin and husband Lynn of Hensley, Ark., his brother, Tommy Brown of Jonesboro, Ark., and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 with 2 p.m. funeral services following. Interment will be in Woodman Cemetery.
