Mike Massey

Mr. Mike Massey, age 63, of Forrest City, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at the Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. He was surrounded by his loved ones until he went to be with the Lord. Mr. Massey was born June 20, 1953, in Fayetteville, and was the son of Walter Blake Massey II and Mabel Taylor Massey. He retired from Federal Express, was a member of the Forrest City Baptist Church and was a member of the Southern Baptist Association. Mr. Massey married Susan Oates in 1976, and she survives him along with three daughters, Erin Massey Carr, and husband, Clarence, and grandchildren; Jordan, Olivia, Julia Williams, Corinne and Elizabeth Carr, of Benton, Arkansas, Joanna Massey of Forrest City, and Rebecca Massey, and grandchildren; Hudson Reyer and Bentley Scalf, of Forrest City, one son, Seth Massey, and wife, Lauren, and grandchildren; Taylor and Emma Massey, of Forrest City, one sister, Jane Massey Udouj of Fort Smith, two brothers; Walter Blake Massey of Dunnedin, Florida, and Dennis Massey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Taylor Rene Massey, sister, Mary Claire Richardson, parents; Walter and Mabel Taylor Massey of Monticello, grandparents; Maggie and C.O. Taylor and Ethel and Dennis Massey. Services for Mr. Massey will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 11 a.m., Wednesday, with burial in Hughes Cemetery.
