Kathleen Fryer Blevins was born on January 30, 1931, in England, Ark. to Charlie M. and Rosa Pearl Stewart Edmonson and died on November 2, 2017 in North Little Rock, Ark. Kathleen as she was known to all who loved her, lived her life in service to God, taking care of her children and helping others. She graduated North Little Rock High School in 1949 and attended Little Rock Junior College. On a blind date she met and later fell in love with a rambunctious ex-Marine named Wally Fryer. They were married in May, 1950 in North Little Rock and remained a loving couple until Wally's death in 1997. They were blessed with three children, Shannon Jarrett of North Little Rock, Kelly (Curtis) Rickard of Hot Springs and Scott (Linda) of Jacksonville, and grandchildren, Cortney (Jim) Parks of Mayflower, Ark., Heather (Jeremy) Vaughn of Benton, Ark. and Shayne Elam of Bakersfield, Calif., all of whom survive her. Kathleen and Wally traveled to the Grand Canyon almost every year, including several years working there so they could stay more than 2 weeks at a time. Kathleen worked at the Arkansas Gazette while attending college, ran a day care center from her home for many years and later in life worked as a guide to the Historic Arkansas Museum. Kathleen was a member of the Levy church of Christ where she and Wally were among the first members to attend; placing membership on the first Sunday in its present location in 1956. Kathleen loved to use her talents in service to the church and, during one of these occasions, she caught the eye of Lavelle Blevins in 2000. They soon fell in love and were married in 2001. That union brought into the family his children, Sharon (Bill) Arnold of North Little Rock, Larry (Jan) Blevins of Tyler, Texas, Bob Blevins of Sherwood, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a beloved 4 legged child named Charlie. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husbands Wally Fryer and Lavelle Blevins, her parents, brothers, Charles and Irvin Edmonson and her sister Patsy Edmonson.
