ERMA ETHELYNN RIPLEY (husband Richard "Rip" Ripley) married: June 11, 1955, for 62 years. Born: June 27, 1935, deceased: Nov. 2, 2017. Daughter of Audrey Brandon Huckabee and Samuel Jefferson Huckabee. Predeceased by parents, sisters, Zelma James (Olen) and Mary Huckabee, brothers, Floyd Huckabee, Samuel Jefferson Huckabee II (Dortha Faye), Kenneth Huckabee, and daughter Susan Gail Ripley. Survived by four children: Judy Lynn Grasham (John), Richard Brandon Ripley (Sandy), Dawn Starr Richardson (Mark), and John Scott Ripley (Lynne). Grandchildren: Arwen Rimmer (Paul), Elizabeth Montanaro (Gene), Eric Grasham (Morgan), Brandi Gray (Jared), Alicia Mauldin (Robert), Jonathan Richardson (Katelyn), Philip Richardson (Gabriela), Sarah Tucker (Josh), Suzanne Ripley, Aaron Morris (Tiffany), and Kalina Bowles (Brandon). Great-grandchildren: Gareth Reeves, Roman Montanaro, Odin Montanaro, Tristan Rimmer, Henry Rimmer, Madison Lampkin, Garett Gray, Lila Gray, Cole Mauldin, Jack Mauldin, Nora Mauldin, Skylar (Richardson) Lyle, Ashton Richardson, Alex Tarin, Araceli Villalobos, Ava Richardson, Ella Tucker, A.J. Morris, and Josey Bowles. Erma began work at 14 years old at Argenta Drug Store. She also worked at Williamson Drug, Sterling Store in North Little Rock, and Woolworths in Little Rock. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1953, and Draughn's Business School in 1954. She later worked for the Agricultural Extension Office and Electrolux Corporation. She was retired from Pulaski County Special School District after 25 years. She served at Oak Grove Elementary, Oak Grove High School, Pine Forest Elementary, the district administrative office, and she was also a member of local, state and national Association of Office Personnel. Erma was a long time member of Levy Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school classes and participated in the "Knit Together With Love" group, knitting garments for charity. Hobbies included: knitting, painting, ceramics, jewelry making and watercolor. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Rest Hills Mausoleum.
