Vernon Wesley Morrow went to his Lord on Sunday November 5th, 2017 in Helotes, Texas. Vern was born in Garner, Arkansas and grew up in McRae, Arkansas; the youngest son of 9 children born to Henry and Esther Morrow. He was president of his senior class and played on various sports teams. He joined the Navy at 18 and met his wife, Joyce while they were stationed in California. Vern served during the Korean War earning three medals. They moved to Illinois where Vern met his calling to be a successful salesman for Swift & Co. He then leveraged his skills for Prudential Insurance where they promoted and relocated him to San Antonio in the ‘60s. While in San Antonio Vern participated in the Turtle Creek Optimist Club and the Helotes VFW. Vern also started his own insurance agency, The Morrow Agency, as well as purchasing and improving Flagstop Cafe' in Fair Oaks. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Genia Belzung and Lisa Edmondson; grandchildren, Dillon Edmondson and Emma Belzung; sister, Fern; sister-in-law, Johnnie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary in San Antonio, Texas www.porterloring.com. Visitation will also be held Sunday, November 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Lebanon Cemetery. www.smithfamilycares.com.
