Melvin Louis Purvis

MELVIN LOUIS PURVIS, 77, of Little Rock passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. He was born Feb. 5, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Kan., to the late Thornton Snyder Purvis and Katharine Edwidge Terry Purvis. He retired from the Veteran's Administration and from the United States Naval Construction Battalions, better known as the Seabees. He is a long time member of St Theresa's parish. He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Robbie Jo Purvis and one son, Jonathan David Purvis. He is survived by his children, Robert, Elaine, Ann, Mike, Charles, Steve, Joe and Rachel. He has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that meant a lot to him. A visitation-rosary will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services to follow on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock, Ark.
