Patricia Lynn McDonald, aged 78, went to be with the Lord on November 24 in Malvern, Arkansas. Pat was born August 6, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the daughter of Buster Mack Johnson and Kathleen Whiteaker. Pat graduated from Pine Bluff High School and attended Henderson State University, where she earned Bachelor and Master degrees in Elementary Education and was in Alpha Sigma Tau sorority. She also later earned a Master degree in Library Science from University of Central Arkansas. In 1961, Pat married the love of her life, Carson Coleman (C.C.) McDonald. Over a 28-year period, she taught elementary school in Bismarck, Bryant, Bauxite, and Glen Rose schools. She also served as school librarian at Glen Rose for 8 years before retiring. She and C.C. lived in Social Hill, Arkansas for the past 41 years, where they raised both of their sons, Allen and Kirk. Pat thoroughly enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of Adkins Memorial Methodist Church in Social Hill, where she was an active volunteer for many years. Pat is survived by her husband, C.C., her sister, Joan Wallace (Bob), sons, Allen McDonald (Robbie) of Greenwood, Arkansas and Kirk McDonald (Ashley) of Cabot; six grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Kathleen, and her sister Martha Wilkerson. There will be a private memorial service for immediate family members at Adkins Memorial Methodist Church in Social Hill and a private graveside service at Gilchrist Cemetery in Friendship, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to Adkins Memorial Methodist Church, c/o Mary Jo Parish, 5185 Midway Road, Donaldson, Arkansas 71941 or to the Alzheimer's Association of Arkansas, online or to 10201 W.
