Judith Elizabeth Isaacson Luna, 70, of West Fork died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017. She was born Aug. 6, 1947, in Virginia, Minn. She is survived by her husband, Jorge R. Luna, of West Fork, and their son Nicolás Maximilian, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Judy was the daughter of Wallace and Effie Isaacson, of Eveleth, Minn., who preceded her in death. Judy studied at St. Olaf College, in Northfield, Minn., and the Minnesota College of Art and Design, where she obtained a BFA in Film Production. Later in her life she was awarded two Master's degrees from the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville; one in Political Science, in 1996, and the second one, earlier this year, in Photojournalism. With her son Nicolás, himself a film producer with a Master in Fine Arts from the Community College of New York, Judy made a film about Eveleth, her hometown in Northeastern Minnesota, and showed it at the Hockey Hall of Fame, in Eveleth, the week of this past Fourth of July. In 1978, Judy joined the Peace Corps and lived in Honduras for two and a half years teaching her Honduran counterparts the production of audiovisual materials for the training of rural auxiliary nurses. In Honduras, she met and married her husband and in their 33 years of marriage they lived in Miami, the Washington, D.C. area and Northwest Arkansas. Judy was a realtor and worked for Bassett-Mix and Keller-Williams. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m., at the Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 4520 N.
