Rex Edwin Sunco

Rex Edwin Synco 81, of Stuttgart went to be with the Lord October 2, 2017 with his wife and daughter by his side. Rex was born on March 3, 1936, the 5th child of H.B. and Ellen (Askew) Synco in the Sunshine community. He was married to the former Carolyn Becker on May 27, 1957. They just celebrated 60 wonderful years. He and Carolyn were members of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Stuttgart. Rex was employed by Exxon for 20 years and then he and his wife operated Synco auto Repair until he retired in 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and Ray Synco and three sisters, Lois Hoffman, Geneva Weatherly, and Margaret Synco. Rex is survived by his wife, Carolyn: his daughter, Terri Maier; four grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; a sister, Frances Weischman; a brother, Richard "Buck" Synco; two honorary great-grandsons and an honorary great-granddaughter. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. at Lone Tree Cemetery on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home, 115 North Livermore Street, Hazen. The family will gather at 907 South Leslie Street in Stuttgart.
