Charles Edward Clay, 60 passed away at his home on Monday, October 2, 2017. He worked as a Software Analyst for Fidelity Information Services for over 25 years. Charles attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he played football for the Arkansas Razorbacks (#84) under Coach Lou Holtz and was named to the Razorback All-Decade team for the 1970s. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Edwards. Charles is survived by daughter, Lindsey Clay; son, Charles A. Clay (Tenia); two grandchildren, Ethan Register and Charli Rose Clay; father, Willie Clay (Doris); brothers, Kevin Edwards (Linda) and Kenneth Clay (Kim); sisters, Brenda Bland, Rita Braggs, Beverly Dickerson and Carol Turner (Jeff) and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew A.M.E. Church, 3003 Bishop St., Little Rock, Ark. Rev. G. D. Hughes will officiate. The family hour will be held Friday, October 6, 2017, from 6 p.m.–7 p.m. at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester St., Little Rock, Ark. (501) 372-1305.
