Keith Kennedy Jr.

Keith Kennedy Jr., of Hillsboro, Mo., was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Tuckerman, Ark., to Keith Sr. and Ruby (nee Perry) Kennedy, and entered into rest, Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Mercy Festus in Festus, Mo., at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 14 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, Keith Sr. and Ruby (nee Perry) Kennedy, and former spouse, Wilma (nee Nicks) Kennedy. He is survived by: His loving wife, Shirley (nee Nolte) Kennedy of Hillsboro, Mo.; three children, Cindy (Michael) Miller of DeSoto, Mo., Keith III (Paula) Kennedy of Barnhart, Mo., and Mark (Michael) Kennedy of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren, Valleri (Tim) Wingbermuehle, Erin (Jon) Shulan, Cara Vonder Bruegge, Jacob Vonder Bruegge, Hannah (Jon) Peterson, Keith, IV (Hannah) Kennedy; eight great-grandchildren, Brock, Kennedy, Reese, Eli, Poppy, August, Charlie, and one on the way; one sibling, Kern (Leah) Kennedy of Austin, Ark., and many friends. Keith loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and woodworking. He was an outstanding musician and played in many community bands in Jefferson County and the Dixielanders, and the Bonita Village Bands in Florida. For most of his career he was the president of Farm Credit Banks and the president of Sunmark. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 from 3-8 p.m., at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Mo., with the service on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., at DeSoto Church of Christ in Desoto, Mo. Interment on Wednesday Oct. 11, 2017 at 11 a.m., at Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman, Ark. Memorial donations may be made for a scholarship in the name of Keith Kennedy Jr. in C/O American Legion Post #253, 849 American Legion Dr., Festus, Mo., 63028.
