Guyndal Ralph Stewart, 73, of Jacksonville, passed away on October 8, 2017. He was born to Oral & Wilma Stewart on September 17, 1944 in Letona, Arkansas. Ralph was a business man in Gravel Ridge for almost 50 years. He and his partner, Gil Cunningham, first began in the grocery store business. They then transitioned into the used car business and ultimately expanding into the tractor business. In addition, managed multiple real estate properties. Ralph served his country in the Air Force Reserves. He also served his community and was Chairman of the Board for the Gravel Ridge Fire Department for over 25 years. As a member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, he served as deacon with an emphasis in visitation. For the past eight years, he has been an active member at the Somers Avenue Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy L. Stewart of Searcy, Ark.; his business partner, brother-in-law and life-long friend, Gil Cunningham, and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Stewart; sons, Stephen Stewart and his wife Heather, Tim Stewart and his wife Brittaney; grandchildren, Carson, Jackson, Anderson, Bethany, and Madison; sisters-in-law, Wanda Stewart, Carolyn Cunningham, and Betty Hall; brother-in-law, Bobby Hall; nieces who were like daughters, Kimberly Oglesby and Kristen Rodgers; and nephews, Jim and Ted Stewart. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Somers Avenue Church of Christ at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
