Emily Marion Vollers passed from this world Sunday night, October 8th. As she frequently did, Em left quietly and unexpectedly after a weekend of laughs, the Disney Store, and birthday cake. Although Emily had autism and speech was difficult for her, she was an excellent communicator. At an early age she was reading above grade level, and did so all of her 27 years. She loved the internet and spent many hours searching the web. She giggled when reminded "no inappropriate content viewing". As a child and later as a young adult, Emily was a happy soul and though she faced many challenges, her spirit and love of life were never dampened. She loved all babies, whether human, puppies, keets, horses, or anything else small and vulnerable. She spent hours weekly at the zoo walking and visiting her favorite animals. Emily is survived by her parents, Anna and John Riggs of Little Rock, and Dr. Mike and Cindy Vollers of Oklahoma City, Okla., her grandparents, Frances and Ed Warwick of Philadelphia, Pa. and Judge Jim and Margrette Vollers of Austin, Texas. She leaves her sister, Madeline Vollers of Chicago, Ill., brothers, Charlie Vollers of Hagerstown,Md., Arthur and Dylan Riggs of Little Rock, Patrick and Irene Riggs of Albuquerque, N.M. and Thomas Riggs of Little Rock. She leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 West 17th St. Little Rock, Ark. 72206 at 1 p.m. on Friday October 13, 2017. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Little Rock Zoological Foundation or The Arkansas Autism Resource and Outreach Center. She touched the lives of many, and will be missed by all. Arrangements entrusted to Ruebel Funeral Home. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
