Lola Mae Guess-Allen

Lola M. Guess-Allen, 65, of Little Rock, Ark. passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was born in the West Rock Addition of Little Rock and was the daughter of Phillip and Lela Mae Guess who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Guess Jr.; and sister, Phyllis Guess. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Burley E. Allen; and her children, Rosamaund, Adria and Amy. She is survived by her siblings: Helen Guess-Jones of Waukegan, IL, Joseph Guess (Charlene), Thelma Guess-Foster and Russell Guess (Joyce). She is also survived by one uncle: John Aaron Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana and her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and a host of special friends. Lola was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church #3, where she was a Choir member, Missionary Society president, and Sunday School teacher. She was self-employed by La Girls Beauty Lounge as a hairstylist for 18 years. She also worked for Olympia Publishing Inc. from 1992 to 2000. She retired from the Department of Workforce Services in October of 2009. The family wishes to thank the Multiple Myeloma Clinic staff at UAMS and the very special doctor, Sharmilan Thanendrarajan and the UAMS CCU staff. The funeral services will be Saturday, October 14, 2017, 11 a.m., at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church #3, 3801 Springer Blvd. Little Rock, Ark. 72206.
