Marie F. Whitfield Willett (McClaren), 87, died Oct. 10, 2017 at her residence in Grant, Fla. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and was one of the first massage therapists to practice in Little Rock, Ark. Marie graduated from Mount St. Mary's Academy, Little Rock, Ark., and attended the University of Arkansas. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Women's Club in Little Rock. She loved dancing and was a member of the Ballroom Latin Swing Association and other dance groups. She was a member of Our Lady Holy Souls Catholic Church, Little Rock, Ark. Marie was a 19 year survivor of breast cancer. Survivors include daughter Ann Kirk and son Charles E. Willett both of Grant, Fla., grandchildren Reed (Susannah), Cory (Mickey) and Taylor (Micah) Willett, brother Oscar M. Whitfield, Jr. of North Little Rock, Arkansas, step-sons Douglas and James McClaren of Rome, Italy, step-daughter Frances Baker of San Francisco, Calif., and many more loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar M. and Cecilia (Zimmerman) Whitfield, her husband James L. McClaren and brother Walter Whitfield. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
