Edward M. "Eddie" Hahn

Edward M. "Eddie" Hahn, 76, of Fort Smith formerly of Charleston, Ark., passed away October 14, 2017. He was born June 9, 1941 in Fort Smith, Ark. to the late Edward Mathew and Lucyle McGee Hahn. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston and served in the US Air Force Reserve, a 1959 graduate of Fort Smith Senior High, and a graduate of the University of Arkansas. He had a love for animals, Diet Pepsi, music, spending time in Branson, and driving his 1967 Corvette Stingray. Mr. Hahn owned and operated Smith Mortuary serving many families throughout the Charleston community and the surrounding areas. He also owned and operated Arkansas Wilbert Vault for almost 35 years, serving many funeral homes throughout the Arkansas River Valley, Northwest Arkansas, and parts of Oklahoma for many years. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Smith Mortuary Chapel and burial will follow in Garden of Memories in Charleston, Arkansas, under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Charleston, Arkansas. Rev. Mike Love, Rev. Bill Van Meter, and Rev. Artie Hudson will officiate. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Cy Rice Hahn of Fort Smith, one daughter, Shannon Hahn Robertson and husband Danny of Bella Vista, Ark.; one sister, Jane Hodnett and husband Bill of Keller, Texas; his mother-in-law, Mattie Mae Rice of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, McKenna Jewell and husband Rick of Watson, Oklahoma, and Garrett Robertson of Dierks; one great-grandchild, Weston Jewell. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
