Remedios Mapili Connell 77 of Little Rock, the wife of the late Homer Gene Connell, passed away Sunday October 15, 2017. She was born November 17th, 1939 in Pasay City, Philippines to Purificasion Briguel and Basilio Mapili. Remy was a hardworking woman who devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, yoga, and spending time with her grandkids at the lake. Remy, along with her husband Homer, are the original founders of Homer's Restaurant in Little Rock. She is survived by her children, Robert Connell (Alicia), Katrina Vaughn and David Connell (Mandy); grandchildren, Logan Connell, Gracie Connell, Joey Connell, Loren Clawitter, Hayden Clawitter, Gavin Vaughn, Nathan Vaughn, Chris Connell, Becca Jo Connell and Gus Connell; her brothers, Ernesto Mapili (Delores) their daughters, Marjorie Gipson and Mylah Manalo; Reynaldo Mapili (Dia) their children, Ronald Mapili, Grace Edwards and Gazelle Call; Alberto Mapili (Lucena) their son, Joseph Mapili; Conrado Mapili (Evelyn) their children, Jasmine Black and Joshua Mapili; and sister-in-law, Rosalinda Mapili and her children, Francisco Mapili, Geraldo Mapili, Herman Mapili, Arnold Mapili and Antonin Mapili. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Domingo Mapili. Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church. Remy's and Homer's ashes will be placed at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. There will be a reception to follow at the church. Arrangements by Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home.
