She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harmon Bean and her daughter, Anna Marie Bean Bradley, her brothers, Charles and J.C. Williams, and her grandson, Travis Bradley. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Bean Lantz and Leila Bean Dockery (Al), her youngest brother, Wayne Williams (Beth) and her sister-in-law, Elaine Williams. After a career teaching math to junior and senior high students, she retired from the Russellville School District to enjoy many years of adventure. She got back into swimming, learned to canoe and teach canoeing, and became a certified scuba diver exploring the waters as close as Lake Ouachita and as far as oceans all over the world. She was able to travel to Europe and the Holy Land. She was an avid reader and student of the Bible, learning both Greek and Hebrew in order to better understand God's Word. In her 80's she began piano lessons and loved playing and listening to a wide variety of music. She was an accomplished knitter and her last project was a beautiful blanket for the great-grandson who gave her so much joy. The family is grateful for the wonderful care she received in hospitalizations at Baptist Health, assisted living at Good Shepherd, and Hospice and skilled nursing care at Parkway Village Health Center. A family service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Malvern, Ark. at 10 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2017. Arrangements entrusted to Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern.
