Billie Bland, age 82 and a long-time Rogers resident, passed way Friday 10/27/2017 at Mercy Hospital after a long disability (Alzheimers) and a brief sudden illness (pneumonia). Billie was the oldest child of the late C. Henley Parker and Zora Ford Parker of Lowell. She is survived by her husband of 59 1/2 years Gene Bland., two daughters Kim Bland-Lauck of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jennifer Bland of Rogers, Brother James Dale Parker of Rogers, and Sister Henley Parker Smith of Springfield Mo. Billie had a long career with the local F & M Bank., which later became the Bank of Rogers. She was a 1952 graduate of Rogers high School and Draughn's Business College. She was a well-known bridge player, active in girls sports and a strong follower of the Razorbacks, especially during the triplets' basketball era. She enjoyed music, dancing, horseback riding with gene on her gaited horse Skipper on the country roads (then) of SW Rogers. A visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at the Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers. Graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton County Memorial Park.
