Arthur Roberts Price Jr., 87, of Rogers, Ark., passed away due to sudden heart failure, Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Alton, Ill, (raised in Missouri) to Arthur Roberts Price Sr. and Lucile McAllister Price. He was a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) for Equitable Life Assurance in Crown Point, Ind., for most of his later career years. In earlier years, he was Manager of Material Control for Graver Tank & Mfg. Co., a division of Union Tank Car Co., in Chicago and Indiana. The Ozarks of his childhood drew him to Rogers, Ark., for his retirement years. For many years, he was highly active in the Benton County Master Gardeners and enjoyed serving as the 2010 board president. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaVerne Eleanor Price,in 2008 and three sisters, Lucile Wallington, Clair Altmann, and Adair Najat. Arthur is survived by three daughters, Gail Gill of Bogart, Ga., Janice Prichard of Hudsonville, Mich., and Diane Platt, and her husband, Dennis, of Frankfort, Mich.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Benton County Memorial Park Columbarium in Rogers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Benton County Master Gardeners at Benton County Extension Service, 1204 S.W. 14th Street, Suite 2, Bentonville, Ark. 72712.
