Robert Carroll Shows

Robert (Bobby) Carroll Shows Jr., 75, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017. He was married 52 years to Peggy Jane Terry of Longview, Texas. Bobby was an ordained minister, Director of Activities in Southern Baptist Churches in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Missouri and on staff at the Missouri Baptist Convention. He was the Founder and Director of Sports Crusaders Ministry, a basketball coach and a basketball referee. He received a Master Degree and Bachelor Degree from Mississippi State University. He played on three SEC Championship teams and went to the Game of Change at the NCAA tournament in 1963. Bobby is also survived by two children: Doug Shows and wife Corinne, and Cynthia Shows Walker and husband Lt. Colonel Steve Walker (Ret.); four grandchildren: Ashley and John Shows and Cole and Caleb Walker; one great-grandson, Arthur Goehner; 11 nephews and nieces and many great-nephews and great-nieces. He has two brothers: Scotty Shows and wife Judy and Glenn Shows and wife Kathy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Carroll Shows and Jenny Lucile Berry Shows. Three services will be held: Saturday., Sept. 9, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit, Mo.; Sunday, Sept., 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Ark., followed by a visitation reception in the Fellowship Hall and Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Brookhaven, Miss., with a graveside service at East Haven Cemetery in Brookhaven, Miss.
