Russell Lewis Jr. 90 joined his Heavenly Father on September 9, 2017. He was born August 23, 1927 in College Station, Arkansas to the late Russell and Mable Lewis. He worked at the Veterans Administration, and retired from Jacuzzi Bros. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he serviced in Honolulu, Hawaii from 1946 to 1948. He was a Faithful member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Sweet Home, Arkansas for over 70 years.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Wilton Lewis, and Fred N. Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 68 years, Fannie Marie Lewis; sons, Russell Lewis III, and Ronald Lewis; daughters, Cynthia Horton (Russell) and Corinne Altheimer all of Little Rock, Ark.; 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition three sisters-in-law, Milrene Springer, June Crusterson and Dorothy Lewis and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017, 10 a.m., at Allen Chapel A.M.E.Church, Sweet Home, Arkansas. Visitation Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester Street, Little Rock, Ark. (501) 372-1305. Interment at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Ark.
