Walter "Walt" Gaspord

Walter (Walt) Gaspord, 82, passed away on September 5, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice on his and wife, Jo's 64th wedding anniversary. He was born in Chicago on July 24, 1935, the son of John and Stella Beretta Gaspord. Walt served in the Army Signal Corps and was stationed at Fort Monmouth, N.J. and the Philippines. He was an Electrician by trade and taught Electrical courses at Vocational School in St. Paul, Minn. He had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, photography, oil painting, ham radio, gardening. He was a member and past president of Fly Tyers, an active member of the Bella Vista Ham Radio Club and the Veterans Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Highland Christian Church in Bella Vista and served in several ministries.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Gaspord. He is survived by his wife, Jo, children Stefani Lekkas of Anoka, Minn., Shari Garcia of Stockton, Minn., Dennis (Dot) Gaspord of Harris, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Steven, Jennifer, Ali, Amanda, Hannah, Nicholas, Colton, Cami and Carter; two brothers-in-law, Leonard (Nina) Cinelli, Emil Cinelli, one sister-in-law, Carmella Bruce and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Highland Christian Church in Bella Vista with Military honors by the Bella Vista Honor Guard.
